Mountains don’t move because we push harder; they move when grace leads. We open 2026 with a clear call to fathers, mothers, and grandparents who feel stuck staring at soot-darkened ruins in their homes—strained marriages, distant kids, stacked bills, and hope delayed. Anchored in Zechariah 4, we trace Zerubbabel’s discouragement and discover a living promise: not by might, nor by power, but by God’s Spirit. When the work shifts from human effort to holy partnership, the “great mountain” becomes level ground and the capstone is lifted with shouts of “Grace, grace.”

From there, we get practical. We share five practices to reshape your family’s future: model everyday faith in front of your kids; call out and bless their gifts until they burn bright; apprentice courage with a simple “Come with me” into real moments that require presence and prayer; practice quick forgiveness that breaks bitterness and keeps hearts open; and speak daily blessings that root identity deeper than the internet’s noise. Along the way, we talk candidly about cultural headwinds, the quiet ache for identity, and why a parent’s steady voice still outranks any algorithm.

If this resonates, subscribe, share it with a parent who needs hope, and leave a review so more families can find it. Ready to trade striving for Spirit-led strength? Let’s begin.

Here we go. Oh, let's let's let's get back. Here we go. Well, welcome. I don't know why that's on there. Let's here we go. Okay. Well, welcome, 2026. Can you believe it? January the 6th. It's so good to be with you. Your host, Ed Tanny McGlassen. I am so grateful that you're online. I'd love to know where you're from. And if you got any questions, you want to hit me up, that would be awesome. Because I love questions. I'm very interruptible. I have 14 grandkids. I better be. So it's great to be with you tonight. And and tonight we're going to talk about every year, I'm sure, like you do, you know, my my prayer is for the year. Lord, what are you saying for the next year? And for families, for things, there's there's so many things going on in the world. That's the problem with social media. You feel like you're connected to the whole world with one of these. Even on Rumble. Uh, welcome all my friends on Rumble, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube. It's great to be with you tonight. And I want to get right into what is God saying for 2026. Now, before I get there, what has he been saying to you? I would I would love you to uh shoot at a text to me of a promise or something that or maybe something you're believing for that you want God to do in your life or for your family. And I would love to to pray with you, believe with you this year, and and connect with you. And so all that to say, I got a banner on here I didn't know. Let's see here. My team is not with me tonight. Let's go. There it is. Hide. Boom. Okay, now we have all the real estate. It was almost blocking me. I've lost so much weight. Not really. I'm in the process. So when you think about uh your life and some of the challenges that you've had in your your story. Good to see you, Mark. Stevens writer, Mattys.painting.journey. That's awesome, Maddie. Are you a plain air painter too? I think she is. She just is one of my uh great passions in my own life. Getting outside and painting. That's that's exciting and it's a great way to rest and be quiet. But if you're thinking about the battles or the mountains that you're facing right now, I I think this this word's gonna come in two parts. One, kind of what is God saying? What's God gonna do? Well, there's I mean, there's a lot of stuff going on all over the world. We're in an unprecedented time of change and and shifting, and from the political world to the countries. I mean, it's it's just incredible all the things that are going on. And some of it's crazy way over us. And yet, one of the places that's been an under-reported battle is the battle in families. The battle in marriages, the battle in families. And matter of fact, it's you know, kind of the the latest research that's out that even that many gals, many women are pushing back and not wanting to to get married, to have a relationship with men because of all of the assault against men, they want to be safer, and it's a big swath of single gals where where basically the promise has been from the got basically from the government, and this was actually one of Obama's promises, is that you know what, you know what, if you want to be a single woman and and really realize your life and everything, basically let the government be your husband. And you might think that's a crazy statement, but that is happening all over the place where relationships are breaking down, there's a tremendous war against fathers and mothers and families, and and yet God's up to something extraordinary. As a matter of fact, all these problems that we see socially and in different states, and and if you pay attention to the news at all, there's stuff going on all over the place, and things are being uncovered, and things have been under the surface. It's a it's a crazy, it's a crazy time. But it's kind of a time where God is readjusting everything. And it's really easy to get discouraged because that dream maybe that you had hasn't yet been realized. You're waiting for God to do that, or maybe it's a son who's run away, or a daughter who's run away, or your son and your stepdaughter have moved away and they've cut you off from access to your grandchildren. I mean, there's all kinds of battle in the family because the devil knows if he can get us as moms and dads and mess us up, he can get our kids. And yet, I've read the end of the book in the Old Testament, says before the great and coming day of the Lord, God's going to do something profound. He is, he's, I'm watching this happen all over the world. God is turning the hearts of fathers, men, back towards their children, back towards her family, back towards their wives. And it is a powerful thing that God is doing. And so I'm so grateful to be with you. And so I want to take you to a scripture that the Lord kind of dropped in my heart for this next year. And it's it's this incredible promise that comes to Zerubbabel, and Zerubbabel was a governor. And if you say Zerubbabel ten times really fast, you'll sound like you're speaking in tongues. But Zechariah, God speaks to Zachariah because the dilemma for Zerubbabel, he's the governor over Israel, is that the people of God are completely discouraged. They've now come back from being in bondage to the Babylonian Empire for over 70 years, and they come back to their beautiful temple mount. It's no longer covered with gold, it's covered with black soot, and it looks like a black mountain in the middle of Jerusalem. And they're discouraged. They realize, well, there's no way this temple can be rebuilt. And they and the the Babylonians, when they came in, saw it because it looked like a gigantic piece of gold, because all of the mortar tracks in this in the stone in this in the temple was 24 karat gold. And so when Solomon in all his glory built this, he built the most beautiful, breathtaking temple mount you can possibly imagine. But when the Babylonians came in and realized there's gold in those cracks, they poured oil down the walls, lit it on fire, and burned, heated up the walls to burn all the melt all the gold and have it run down. And they collected it and stole it. And so imagine the people of Israel are now coming back to Israel after all these years of bondage, back into their promise of the temple, and they're incredibly discouraged. And I've been coaching men and women for a long time, and there are a lot of people right now that are discouraged, not because they don't have faith. They're discouraged because they've been fighting this same mountain of a problem for a long time, and they're and they're wondering when is God going to speak? When is God gonna break through? Do you feel me? You understand what I'm saying? Is that and and we all have these things. We're all waiting for a breakthrough. I have promises from God that I'm waiting on. And at the same time, my kids are all going through different things. They're going, getting jobs, or losing jobs, or relocating, all the kind of things that are happening normally in families. But it's really easy to look at the size of the problem and the temple mount, uh, whatever your your problem is. I want you to put it in front of you. And it's covered with charcoal soot because the gold has been melted out of the cracks, and it's just too big of a job. It's how in the world are we going to do this? And so the people of Israel, they went back to focus in on their own problems, their own homes. They rebuilt their own homes and and left the temple in disrepair. And a contemporary prophet of uh Zachariat, Malachi, he called them back. He called them back to first rebuild the temple, to bring their tithe, to be generous and and to restore what the Babylonians destroyed. And yet they were stuck. They were in a real way, they were going down to the Home Depot and fixing their houses up. And they were kind of stuck in this moment. And Zechariah, the Spirit of God, falls on Zechariah, and this verse that I'm going to share with you, he speaks right into how God is going to give us the breakthrough that we've been waiting for. You ready for that? And so he says to, and it's there in Zechariah 4, verse 6 and 7, just get your marker and mark that up in your Bible. I want you to pray about it, think about it as we talk about this scripture, and a couple of others, uh, and really what God is doing. Good, good to see you there, Mr. Diggs. Good to see you, Bex, uh, Mattys, Ray Diggs, Mark Stevenson. I got all my friends in the house. But he said to me, This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel. So he's speaking to the governor. This governor who surveyed the project of the temple, he is overwhelmed. He doesn't see any way that this is going to happen. You might have something like that right in front of you. You might be overwhelmed right now with a family issue, and you're thinking, there's just no way. And he says to him, This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel, not by might, not by your might, nor by power, your human power. But by my spirit, says the Lord of hosts. I don't know about you. I I come back to that same place over and over again in my walk, is that my flesh loves to take credit for breakthrough. How about you? We love to sort of figure it out, we love to take credit for it, and we might praise the Lord, but we love to figure it out so we don't bother God with the little things. But the truth of the matter is that God has called us to follow Jesus and live a life that we can't live in our own might. We don't have it, and we can't live in our own power. There's only one way that breakthrough comes. It says, But by my spirit, says the Lord of hosts. And that that's God's answer to us. It's what Christ came to give you and me in our lives is a way for us to break through where we don't have to muscle it in. Because if you muscle it in, guys and gals, guess what you got to do? You got to keep it in. You got to constantly push your heart down, worry about it, get overwhelmed about it, fret about it, and you get stuck in this moment where you all you see is the mountain of problem in front of you. And just like Zerubbabel, all he saw was the black sooted temple mount with stones that have fallen down, lit on fire, and a discouraged work crew, which is the people of Israel who were living at Home Depot and finishing their houses. And so he goes on. He says, and then the spirit, you can see where the spirit of God it says the Lord of hosts, and now he prophesies, he he speaks a word. And this word is for you, this word is for me for this next year, for whatever that problem is. Who are you, O Mount Great Mountain? Who are you, O problem? Maybe it's an enemy, maybe it's a lost son who's antagonistic to you. Maybe it's an ex-pouse. Maybe you've been waiting for that promotion and it just your your bills keep building up and you're getting farther and farther behind. But who are you, oh great mountain? Before Zeruba ball. You shall become a plane. When he speaks to us. Who are you? Who are you? That's a Zacharias speaking the word of the Lord for the discouraged nation of Israel. And and then he says to him, and and you shall be a plane. Before Jerubal, you shall become a plane. And then he goes on and says, And he shall bring up forward the top stone or the cheap capstone with shouts of grace, grace to it. God said, verse is jumped off the pages for me this year. Because there's things that I'm believing God for. How about you? Well, we need his power to break through. We need his presence. We need his word. We got to stand. But I'm going to tell I I think this year is going to be the year of amazing breakthrough. It's going to be amazing in that you're going to your jaw's going to drop as you see all of the things that God is doing in your life, in your family, with your business, with your job, with your reaching your friends for Christ, with you reaching young people for Christ, with you leading your family as a dad. That's incredibly, incredibly powerful. I love also what the scripture says in Isaiah. It says, Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill shall be made low. The uneven ground shall become level and the rough places a plain. See, that's God's plan. He's shaking all these things up in the world. Not to punish people, though some see it that way. He's shaking up all these things in the world so he can present his son to all the nations. We live in an unprecedented time of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on us. Look at what's happening with young people. You know, the passing of Charlie Kirk many months ago, and uh just you know, the the assassin's bullet didn't silence the message that's in him. And all through the the you know, turning point is expanding to all kinds of colleges and and places, and and it was such an incredible picture of of what a young guy can do when he goes into the place of the of the most crazy questions that kids have, and he becomes like a father figure in the midst of this time, and he speaks life to these kids, and he and he speaks the truth to these kids. And some hated him, some didn't love him. You know, you know, people have all kinds of reactions when somebody has light. And when you carry the light of the Lord, you're gonna be attacked, you're gonna be marginalized, you're gonna be pushed back, you're gonna be resisted. That's why James says, think it not strange. So what do we do this year? And I want to share with you five things that you can do that's for you and your family, that will make an incredible difference. Well, I'm kind of taking this from Timothy, Paul writing Timothy, one of his young sons, and he says, I'm reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that first dwelt in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice, and now I'm sure dwells in you. That's 2 Timothy. What a powerful scripture that is. This is five through seven.

And

Hope For Breakthrough In 2026

SPEAKER_01

And and what he's saying is, you know, one of the first things you can do, you can be mom or dad right now, is that you got to teach your kids how to live by faith. Is there ever been a time where there's there is more openness in this next generation of young people? It's right now. God is doing something. And the most powerful model of these kids to follow more than their friends, more than that, they're looking at you, dad and mom, every single day. They're looking at you and they're watching how you you live by faith. And you know, the truth of the matter is that man's belief is it's his anchor, those things that you believe God for when you're living in front of your kids. And I remember my my grandfather speaking, you know, faith in me as a young man. And you're you're you're you can shape the souls of your children by you what them watching how you live by faith. So it's not a little thing. As God is, as you're taking on this gigantic mountain of problems, one of the best things you can do is that you draw your kids with you and you teach them how to live by faith. And don't just count on youth ministry, those are some great ones out there. Or the church. The number one sermon that your kids are are reading and listening to is Christ in You. And that's a powerful way. You know, one of our, you know, Ray says, My maternal grandmother did that for me. Sometimes it's a grandmother who lives by faith. What a powerful picture of what that means. And and that's exactly what Paul's saying to Timothy. He mentions the two women in his life, his mom and his grandmother. And those two women helped teach Timothy how to live by faith. Notice it wasn't a dad present, but God can use a grandma when a dad's not there. So, number one, you teach them to live by faith. And, you know, one of the, you know, when you bless somebody, it has incredible power in their life. I I remember my grandfather, you know, after I'd come to Christ and played football in the in the NFL, and I'm sitting out of my grandfather's porch. Some of you might have heard this story before. And I I just, you know, I wanted to ask him the question that every every young person wants to ask their father or their grandfather or somebody they admire. And that is, what do you think about me? And so I asked him that as he's reading the Washington Post newspaper in the Wall Street Journal, and he puts it down, he looks at me, and this is what he says. He says, You know, you remind me of somebody. When I was uh the commandant at the Naval Academy, a young burly-haired guy came into my office and looked at me and said, Admiral Ford, with your permission, if you were to order all the midshipmen into the chapel today, I want to share Jesus Christ with them and see how many people we can lead to Christ. And he looks over at me and says, You know, that that young man who's in my office was Billy Graham.

Five Practices For Parents

And he goes, You remind me of him. Boy, that that hit me like a ton of bricks.

Identity, Blessing, And Words

Fan Gifts Into Flame

Courage Through Following Your Steps

Forgive Quickly To Heal Bitterness

SPEAKER_01

It was true. The way God wired me. Not that I'm Billy Graham, but I have this heart. If you've been around me for for any amount of time in public, we're gonna pray for somebody in at the restaurant or in the hospital or the byways about the love of Jesus. And so those words that cemented something in me. Because the number one thing that your children want more than anything right now is they want to they want to know who they are. They want identity. And the truth about the struggle that's in college is is for the most part, many universities, not all, they're not all equal. They have no clue about identity that God has for young people. And so they're kind of in a laboratory redesigning people, giving them a choice of what, 17 genders now? As though you can kind of name yourself and really love who you are once you get to whatever that sweet spot is. The problem with that is that the one who names you also is the grace you got to live by. So if you name yourself, you can only live a life that's human-powered. But if God names you and you connect with who God has called you to be, you have his power in your life. So who's in your life? Because your children are waiting for that. You know, the the Bible says the word out of your mouth may seem of no account, but it can accomplish nearly anything or destroy it. It's such a powerful picture, you know, or destroy it. It only takes a small spark. This is James writing. Remember to set off a forest fire, a careless or wrongful word, place word out of your mouth can do that. How many said things you wish you could get back? And yet, you know, teach your kids to live by faith and and speak, speak it out of your mouth. So, what does that mean? Well, number two, teach them to fan their gifts into a flame. You know, part of that is that you you're when you focus your kids on how God has wired them. You know, it says here in Timothy 1.6, for this reason I remind you to fan into a flame the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. Notice how gifts are imparted or unlocked or released in somebody's life, as life on life, as Timothy is a spiritual father, now on Timothy, one of his spiritual sons. How about you as a dad over your sons? Or you as a grandpa over them. There's something incredibly powerful when you call them out and you bless them with your voice. It has incredible power in the life of your children. Number three, teach them to walk in courage by following you around. Boy, this is a this was a powerful lesson I learned being a young dad. And even today, is that you know, imagine inviting your son to go with you on a ministry trip, and he encounters the Lord by watching how God uses you, and maybe uses him. That started happening with my children. Because when I invited them into my sphere of influence or around my friends, I'm saying to them, you know, follow me. Let me show you how God's been showing me about these things in my life. Did you look? And I mean, that's a powerful model. And yet, you know, I don't I don't hear from dads very often that, you know, when I I in our you know, Fatherhood Academy coaching module, I'll ask them, so what have you taught your your son or your daughter to do this year? What did you teach him about living by faith? It's kind of like, well, I just try to set a good example. That's wonderful. But have you intentionally taught them how to do what you do? We want to see what's happened with the generation of young people today, is that the trainers of them have pretty much become their friends. The moms and dads in their story are their friends. And so they look to their friends, they don't look to their mom and dad or their grandma and grandpa. God's going to do something with that this year in a profound way in your life, in my life, and around the globe. So you teach them to walk by courage. See, they're going to follow your steps. They're going to watch you and how you do it. You show them what it means to be brave. You, you know, because fear really is a shadow many times that people are afraid of. But power, love, and self-control are the light. You know, he's not given us the spirit of fear that leads again to slavery, but love, joy, peace, the Bible says, and what? A sound mind. He's given us uh not a power of fear, but of love and self-control. That's yours to not only live in, but who are you teaching that to? Who are you helping with that in your life? It's a powerful thing for your kids, it's a powerful thing for you, it's a powerful thing for your family. And if you you've just thought for a moment how many hours in in 2025 that you actually intentionally spend time really helping your son or your daughter learn something that's breaking through with you. And what I mean by that is when I learn something new in scripture, I love going to my kids and going, hey, I'm learning something new. What do you what do you think about this? And they're like, Dad, this is great. I see that in you. They start ministering to me. It's incredibly powerful. But they're hungry, they're really hungry to learn. And we're going to talk about how to minister to a kid who's not so hungry, right? And here it is. It's, you know, the fourth thing that they want to encourage you to think about doing this year is just teach your kids how to forgive quickly. It's such an important thing. It's an important thing for you to model that as a hus, is a as a father or a mom, a husband, or a wife, forgive quickly. Instead of you know making that other person suffer until they they sort of get their life right. The problem is, we're never going to be perfect enough to be forgiven. But when Christ's out on the cross, he gave us access to that. And so we we learn not to hold grudges. Because you know, bitterness will always eat away your family and destroy your impact with your children. You know, I love this scripture in Ephesians. I've had to say this over my heart over and over again. How about you? And that is be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other and one another as God in Christ has forgiven you. So that's the measure. You end up forgiving that person because God has been so gracious to you. And when I think about all the things that that Christ forgives me for, and I I can't remember them all. I'm so grateful not to remember all my mistakes so perfectly. But there's some, and even in the midst of that, he was so gracious and loving and kind. And man, what an incredible gift that is to us. And I know for me, it just produces this amazing level of gratitude that that that Christ has saved me and healed me. How about you? And that is what your kids need to discover from you. Is the benefits that Christ has given you when you've gone to him and repented for stuff. That's why you share your story. That's why you share things with your kids that you're learning, not so that you set them up to try to teach them something, but you're you're revealing your life to them, which is incredibly powerful for them. Because it gives them a handle, right? If if the to ride the to ride the the wild horse of life, they need to see somebody else do it. When you're bucked off, you you get back on and you you teach them. It's a powerful picture. Here's the other thing. So why should I forgive quickly? Well, I've learned this the hard way, because if you don't, if you forgive quickly, it teaches your kids there's that there's nothing God can't forgive. You forgive quickly because God forgives you as soon as you ask him. So you forgive others. It stops bitterness from destroying your family. I mean, we had bitterness all through our family, from my side, from Jill's side. And, you know, it was affecting our children, the fighting between my kids. And it was all part of the inheritance of bitterness that every family has to walk out and bring to Christ to heal. But the quicker you forgive, it stops bitterness from destroying your family. Number three, it gives your children a way to forgive you when you disappoint them. So important. You know, one of the most powerful questions you can ask your children. If you've you've been around me at all, it's one of those things that's, you know, part of the Fatherhood Academy and things he's done, is asking them, is there something I've done that's really hurt you that I have not asked for forgiveness yet? It's a powerful thing indeed when you ask a question like that and listen, you own it and you're quick to ask for forgiveness. Powerful stuff. And finally, you want to teach them about God's power in your life with your blessing. You know, there's there's how are they gonna learn about that? Do they just need to go to church? You know, part of it is that you've got you've got something to give your kids. That the most powerful influencer in your children's life is you when you have their heart. And so when you forgive, when you there, you know, the five things we talked about, you teach them how to live by faith, how to fan their gifts into a flame, you teach them how to live with courage, you teach them how to forgive quickly, you teach them about God's power with your blessing because you're speaking God's blessing in their life every day. Something profound happens in their heart, in their life. And so I'm really excited about this year. I'm excited for you, and I would love you to hang around. We've got a short little video. Our new Fatherhood Academy has just uh launched, and would love for you to check it out and uh join us. We've got a great group of men from many different places around the world who go online and learn how to become the husband and father, their family needs, and gals who are learning how to be the wife and mother, their family needs. And I'm just so grateful for you guys hanging with me last year. And this is kind of the our first show of 2026. And I wanted to give you something practical, but I also wanted to give you something that would stir you, that I really think that God is gonna meet you, and you're gonna see more breakthrough than you've ever seen. Maybe things that you've been waiting for for years. And so I want to end with prayer. If you've got some prayer prayers you'd like to send me, just shoot me a text, which is private to me. And uh I'd love to just pray with you right now. And I'm so grateful that you're here. We got some great shows, some great podcasts lineup for 2026. And we're here to serve you and help you become the mom and dad that God's called you to be. The the grandpa, the grandma, and our young people, we have a number of young people that we're coaching right now. It's it's they're like wet paint. They're so they're so moldable, they're so hungry. There's something just incredible that as a grandpa, I have this access to these young people because they really, and many of them really want to have a grandpa like me, or grandpa like you, or a grandma like you, or you know, a mom like you. This generation is only a step away from breakthrough when we understand that God's made us to be part of their story. And so let's just pray. I want to pray for all the different families, all the prayer requests. So, Father, I thank you for this new year. I thank you for all the things that you have given us to do. And I pray, Lord, that 2026 would just be an incredible year in the midst of all of these gigantic big problems, Lord, that you're even exposing and that you're gonna fix. And you're gonna pour out your spirit on your church. I pray for the church of Jesus that's left your word. I pray, Lord, for revival through the land. And revival would start in the heart of pastors who open their Bibles again, who preach with power, who trust God's word above what they think or feel. And I pray for you these young people that are there and in your families, that Father, you would restore families in every place that we go. I'm so grateful for all the people, Lord, that are reading our books and signing into the academy. I pray, Lord, you'd be with them, you'd speak to them, you would shape them and mold them into the men, husbands, fathers, and grandfathers, and women, moms, grandmas, and grandfathers and grandmothers. Lord, I just thank you for my friends. I give you this new year. I pray, Lord, you'd be with us in profound ways. And I give you all these things in the name of Jesus. And all God's people said, Amen. So grateful to Ray Diggs, you joined the Academy. I saw that, man. I'm so grateful that you're there. Oh, here's my friend in the UK. Welcome, my friend. I love England. I'm praying for England to have a revival. It's already starting with young people. But uh there's a lot of things that God is shifting around so this Son can be glorified and his church could grow. Bless you, my friend, in the UK and all those. And uh, I got a little short. Video that closes off. Check it out. Join the academy. Hang out with us. And I would love to spend time with more time with you.

Dear friends, imagine a world where every father feels equipped to lead with faith, love, and purpose. A world where families thrive and communities grow stronger because of devoted, Christ-centered fathers.

Teaching With Your Blessing

You know, beloved, that is the vision that God's put in my heart for every single family. You know, he is on the move, I believe. He promises in Malachi that before the great and coming day of the Lord, he's going to do something profound. He's going to turn the hearts of fathers back towards their children. So the hearts of their children will turn back to their father. That's what God is doing. I meet dads daily who want to learn to be better fathers. Yet many have never been shown how. Too many families are being fractured through bitterness and with parents and grandparents even being canceled. That's why we're launching an online community to quit men to be the fathers that God has called them to be. It's more than a program, it's a part of a movement that God is already doing to reshape fatherhood as a sacred calling rooted in the teachings of Christ. And we're calling this the Fatherhood Academy, where men will embark on a journey of healing and spiritual restoration that helps them transform their family relationship. And to make this vision a reality, would you consider partnering with us financially as we continue to reach and disciple every man, dad, and grandpa that comes our way? Your donation will help create a ripple across the neighborhoods, communities, you know, and ultimately our nation, anchoring each child here's a vision in the unwavering love and guidance of a devoted dad.
